Women Empowerment 

In many ways the graph of year 2024-25 was up & down but has been very active. Beside the ongoing projects we have added few new projects. At present the following ACTIVITIES projects are being carried out by the organization: 

Legal Awareness Programm: 

  • To build the capacities of women at the grass root level to become legally aware, gender sensitive, and nonjudgmental in order to listen to the victims of domestic violence with empathy. 
  • To provide a forum for conflict reduction to resolve family disputes and enable women to assert themselves and live with dignity and esteem. 
  • To train paralegal workers to handle case work and counsel women to know their legal rights, to take decision and to act to get out of violence situations when conflict is not resolved. 
  • To prepare women for legal action and seek legal aid when necessary. 

 

This year was very holistic for the Legal Awareness Programm and also was instrumental in sensitizing the general public regarding violence against women and girls. Rallies, workshops on gender and legal awareness, Women Day and regular weekly meetings were some of the main activities taken up by the LAPs. Besides these activities they have deal with many cases of marital discords. The concept of Legal Awareness Programm was a traditional form of community organization for special justice, is being appreciated by the people in Narela. In this year a total number of 17 cases were registered in the Legal Awareness Programm. 12 cases were solved by the Counselors during the LAPs. Legal advice was given in one case other 4 cases are under process. 

 

A workshop was organized on gender issues. The topic were amps were 8 days and 2 days  

were as follow-up. During the event we share the knowledge about the legal rights & other rights of women, such as domestic violence, family feuds, dowry demand, health & nutrition, and etc. Project is running in Haryana & Delhi. 

 

CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMM – (Self Help Group)  

Bhartiya Mahila Avom Bal Vikas Sansthan has executed many Rural Development Projects at Naya Gaon. BMBVS’s SHG (Self Help Group) initiative has transformed daily routine and life of many women. These women have responded positively to this initiative and personified the power of self-belief. The confidence level of these women has grown by leaps and bound. SHG women manage all their business activities on their own e.g. organizing meetings, decision making, maintaining accounts, visiting bank for loan processing, opening shop, purchasing buffalos, etc.   

Trainings for capacity building – During the year, 814 members benefited from 17 trainings on various subjects. The trainings include SHG concepts, Leader/Office bearer’s training, Personal Hygiene and other Health related issues, SHG Book writing, Social Sensitization, Animal Husbandry, Farmers Trainings, Women’s Rights, Income Generation programme were some of the major subjects/ themes covered.   

Non-formal Education 

A Project on non-formal education pattern, but a unique model, was introduced by the organization since its inception. Bhartiya Mahila Avom Bal Vikas Sansthan through this project continues to reach out to children living in vulnerable conditions, thereby impacting the lives of the target communities. There has been improvement in the quality and efficacy of this project with the active support from the various stakeholders. Parents of the children take keen interest in the implementation of project activities. The NFE center as a perpetual tool of advocacy for the rights of the children, for Bhartiya Mahila Avom Bal Vikas Sansthan. A total nos. of 404 children in four areas were admitted to non-formal education centres during the year. They received education in an innovative and joyful manner through the centers. While all the students were being admitted into classes I to V in nearby government schools. 

CRUCH UNIT – Resettlement colonies of Bawana and Holambi Kalan were established five years back to relocate the slum dwellers from Yamuna Pushta and other parts of the city. Majority of the population belongs to backward class, falling below poverty line mainly due to lack of employment opportunity and low level of literacy. Bhartiya Mahila Avom Bal Vikas Sansthan is running Integrated Community Development Program in these communities since April ’04 in order to uplift them and cater to their different needs.  

Education Program – Caters to the needs of children of all age group through Balwaris (2 ½ to 4 yr), Gali School (4 to 6 yr), Learning Centre (6 to 14 yr) 

 

CHILD LABOUR, DISABLED & CONTEMPORARY FORM OF- SLAVERY AWARENESS PROG. 

The organization has more experience in education, awareness right to labour, SC, OBC, BPL child & women working with Central Board Welfare Education, Dept. of Labour & employment State & Central govt. or by own funds. During the project 100 street & child labour children have been educated in which 14 Male & 6 Female. These children have been educated in the primary education with Vocational Training such as soft toys & Doll Making (12 Male & 08 Female) & Bamboo & glass craft gift item making (14 Male & 06 Female).These all children were 6-14 years age group. 

 

AGED/ SENIOR CITIZEN WELFARE PROGRAMME 

By utilizing the organization’s resources and individual support, we have conducted health care and physical development activities for the aged population. In this regard, we organized health & eye-check up camps. In addition, competitions were also organized.
